In many industrial fields, ceramic membranes play a vital role. In order to ensure their long-term stable operation, correct maintenance is essential.
First, correct cleaning is the key. Ceramic membranes generally need to be cleaned after use. The cleaning time is usually about 40 minutes, and the specific duration needs to be adjusted according to the effect. There are three main cleaning methods. When cleaning with alkali, add alkali solution to adjust the pH value of the cleaning solution to 10.0-10.5, and the cleaning temperature is controlled at 45-50℃; when the permeability of the filter membrane is reduced due to the deposition of water hardness, acid cleaning is required, and phosphoric acid or citric acid is used to adjust the pH value to between 2.0-3.5, and be careful to avoid using hydrochloric acid; if the water flux is not restored after alkali cleaning, it can be combined with sodium hypochlorite cleaning, and sodium hypochlorite is added to make the concentration reach 150-200PPm.
Testing of the cleaning effect is also essential. Before the new equipment is put into operation, an initial flux test should be carried out. After each subsequent cleaning, the equipment operating parameters should be adjusted to be consistent with the initial flux test, and then the permeation flow rate should be compared. If it recovers to about 80% of the original value, it means that the membrane is basically clean and can be used again; otherwise, it needs to be cleaned again.

In addition to cleaning, attention should also be paid to maintenance in daily operation. Ensure that the ceramic membrane is installed correctly to avoid damage caused by improper installation; strictly follow the operating procedures during operation, control parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow, and prevent it from exceeding the working range of the membrane.
In addition, when storing, the ceramic membrane should be placed in a dry, clean, and ventilated environment to avoid contact with corrosive substances. Regularly inspect the appearance of the ceramic membrane to check for damage, deformation, etc. If there is any abnormality, contact professionals in time to deal with it.
Through these maintenance measures, the service life of the ceramic membrane can be effectively extended, its performance can be guaranteed, and strong support can be provided for enterprise production.
